Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model guidance point to an overnight low in the mid-70s for Austin on September 4, with highs near 95°F and a 30-50% chance of afternoon/evening thunderstorms. Trader sentiment remains split because cloud cover and moisture from southeasterly flow can limit nocturnal radiative cooling, potentially holding the minimum near 76-78°F, while clearer breaks or stronger mixing could allow temperatures to dip toward 70°F or below. Historical September averages near 71°F provide context, yet current humidity and light winds reduce the likelihood of sharper drops. Upcoming evening model runs and official updates will refine the exact minimum before resolution.
