**Trader consensus heavily favors a highest temperature of 94–95°F in Houston on September 2, reflecting National Weather Service observations and model consensus around late-summer norms.** Average daily highs for early September sit near 91.5°F, with recent days showing readings in the low-to-mid 90s amid typical Gulf moisture and southerly flow. Official station data from Houston Intercontinental and Hobby Airport, combined with minimal convective cooling or frontal passage in the 24–48 hours prior, aligned closely with this narrow band. Heat index values exceeding 100°F further supported sustained warmth despite scattered afternoon storms. A realistic challenge would require an unforecasted surge in cloud cover, heavy rainfall, or a last-minute data revision at the primary reporting site that shifts the official maximum outside the 94–95°F window.
