Official National Weather Service forecasts for Houston indicate overnight lows near 79–80°F on September 3 amid persistent Gulf moisture, high dew points, and scattered thunderstorms that limit radiative cooling under mostly cloudy skies and light southerly winds. These conditions, typical for early September but elevated relative to the 1991–2020 average minimum near 75°F, support trader emphasis on the 76–83°F range where probabilities cluster tightly. Model consensus shows limited overnight temperature drops due to cloud cover and precipitation chances, while any clearer breaks could allow brief dips toward 74–75°F; real-time observations through the morning will refine the final minimum before resolution.
