Official National Weather Service forecasts for Houston on September 3, 2026, project a daytime high near 90°F under mostly cloudy skies with a 50-60% chance of showers and thunderstorms developing by afternoon. Persistent humidity, limited solar heating from cloud cover, and convective activity are the dominant factors capping temperatures in this range, consistent with early-September subtropical patterns where daily maxima often cluster around the seasonal average of 89°F. Model consensus from NWS and other sources shows little divergence, with heat index values potentially reaching 102°F despite the modest air temperature. These conditions explain why trader consensus centers on the 88-93°F brackets as the most probable outcomes ahead of final daily observations.
