Official Atlanta observations, including preliminary climatological data from National Weather Service stations, recorded a daily maximum of 94–95°F on September 2, 2026, under sunny conditions with light winds and dew points supporting heat indices near 100°F. This aligned with National Weather Service forecasts projecting highs in the mid-90s—several degrees above the early-September normal of 86–87°F—while falling short of the date’s all-time record of 97°F. Trader consensus at near-100% implied probability for the 94–95°F bin reflects these verified measurements rather than models or projections. A post-event data revision or use of an alternate station reading could theoretically shift resolution, though such changes are rare once preliminary local climatological data are issued.
