Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and other models project a high near 96°F in Atlanta on September 3 under sunny skies with light easterly winds, several degrees above the early-September climatological average of 86°F. Strong solar heating under persistent high pressure, combined with a warm air mass and high humidity yielding heat indices above 100°F, supports readings in the mid-90s. Model consensus shows minimal day-to-day variability, with only slight afternoon instability possible later in the week. Trader positioning, with 96-97°F at 54% implied probability and 94-95°F at 37.5%, aligns closely with this stable guidance and historical precedent for late-summer heat without significant cooling fronts or cloud cover to moderate temperatures.
