Recent National Weather Service guidance points to a warming trend moderated by marine influence, with forecast highs for Los Angeles on September 23 ranging from the upper 70s near the coast to the mid-80s or low 90s inland. Weak offshore flow in the morning and a shrinking marine layer support afternoon clearing and sea-breeze development that typically caps coastal maxima, keeping readings near 78–81°F at key stations like LAX. Model spreads arise from variable wind timing and low-cloud dissipation rates, producing the near-even market split between the 78–79°F and 80–81°F bins. Updated runs from the NWS and global ensembles tomorrow morning will clarify whether stronger onshore flow or delayed sea-breeze onset pushes the peak a degree or two higher.
