Official National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on September 22 indicate a high near 62°F under mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and persistent northeast winds of 10-15 mph with gusts to 20 mph. This onshore flow from Lake Michigan, combined with widespread cloud cover, has suppressed daytime warming well below the late-September climatological average of 73-74°F, keeping hourly readings in the 60-62°F range through afternoon. Model consensus and recent observations show limited potential for further rise, concentrating trader-implied probabilities on the 60-61°F and 62-63°F bins. Updated NWS guidance and any clearing trends before sunset represent the key near-term variables that could shift the daily maximum within the narrow observed range.
