Baba Malam Wali’s emergence as the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 Yobe election, following his decisive primary victory and endorsements from Governor Mai Mala Buni and former Governor Ibrahim Geidam, underpins trader pricing that heavily favors him. The outcome reflects broad party stakeholder consensus around continuity, administrative experience from his long tenure as Secretary to the State Government, and regional power-shift dynamics favoring Yobe North. Remaining aspirants who initially contested the consensus process have largely withdrawn or faced procedural setbacks, while limited court challenges continue without altering the nomination. APC’s established dominance in Yobe state elections, combined with Wali’s ongoing consultations with traditional institutions, reinforces the implied probability reflected in current market odds for the APC nominee over other listed contenders.

This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Yobe State gubernatorial election. Any interim, acting, or caretaker Governor will not qualify.
