If no decision on the key rate is issued by the end date of the next scheduled meeting, this market will resolve to the "No change" bracket. The Bank of Russia's July 2026 decision to cut its key rate by 25 basis points to 14% and its revised baseline forecast for an average rate of 14.5–14.6% this year have anchored trader expectations for a hold at the September 11 meeting. Updated projections raised 2026 inflation to 6–7% owing to temporary fuel price spikes and one-off factors, while underlying measures remain near 4–5%. Policymakers cited moderately tight monetary conditions, decelerating lending, softer business demand expectations, and a more expansionary fiscal stance as reasons for slower easing. These elements have produced market-implied probabilities favoring no change over further reduction, with any additional cut likely dependent on incoming inflation and inflation-expectation data before the next scheduled decision.
