The nonpartisan general election on November 3 pits Gorton, seeking a third term after prior victories of 63% and 71%, against real estate broker and first-time candidate Raquel Carter, who advanced with 28%. Gorton's established record on city operations, budget management, and public safety metrics has reinforced trader consensus around her strong re-election prospects. Carter's campaign emphasizes community engagement and housing policy, but no major shifts in polling, endorsements, or developments have narrowed the gap since the primary. The market reflects this incumbency edge and limited late-cycle volatility heading into early voting.
