The Swedish Social Democratic Party maintains a commanding lead in opinion surveys ahead of the September 13 parliamentary election, consistently polling near or above 30 percent as the largest party while the governing Tidö bloc trails overall. Recent Demoskop and other surveys through early August show stable support for the centre-left opposition bloc at around 50 percent, reflecting voter preferences on key issues such as economic management and welfare policy under the current administration. This positioning underpins trader consensus on the Social Democrats’ strong position to secure the most seats in the Riksdag. Late-campaign shifts in turnout among key demographics, unexpected coalition signals, or major external events could still narrow the gap or alter bloc dynamics before election day.
