Recent polls consistently place the AfD in a commanding lead for the September 6, 2026, Sachsen-Anhalt Landtag election, reflecting voter dissatisfaction with the incumbent CDU-SPD-FDP coalition amid concerns over economic stagnation, migration, and demographic pressures in eastern Germany. The party’s frontrunner status stems from sustained support near 40 percent, well ahead of the CDU at roughly 25 percent, with other parties trailing further and facing risks of falling below the five-percent threshold. Traders’ near-certain odds for an AfD victory as strongest force align with this stable polling gap and the absence of major late-campaign shifts. A realistic challenge would require a sharp, unexpected swing in voter turnout or a decisive scandal affecting AfD mobilization in the final weeks before election day.
