Recent National Weather Service and private forecasts indicate the overnight low for Houston on September 8 will likely fall in the upper 70s, with point temperatures centered near 79–81°F under mostly clear skies, light southeast winds, and high humidity that limits radiational cooling. This warm, moist air mass—typical of late-summer Gulf influence—has produced consistently elevated minimums in recent days, well above the 1991–2020 average low of 74°F for the date. Model consensus shows no incoming cold front or significant weather system to alter the pattern before resolution, supporting trader emphasis on the 78–81°F brackets as the most probable outcomes while leaving modest probability for slightly cooler readings if localized cooling exceeds expectations.
