Recent opinion polls ahead of Sweden’s September 13 general election show Magdalena Andersson’s Social Democrats and the broader left-leaning bloc holding a consistent lead of roughly seven to ten points over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s governing alliance. The most recent Demoskop survey (late July to early August) placed the left bloc at 50.6% and the right at 46.9%, with Andersson’s party polling near its 2022 result while the Moderates have declined. This polling trend has driven trader consensus toward Andersson as the next prime minister, while Kristersson’s lower probability reflects the current government’s weaker position. Other listed figures remain marginal due to their parties’ limited projected seat shares and coalition prospects.
