Recent polling averages place Die Linke narrowly ahead of the CDU in voting intentions for the 20 September 2026 Berlin Abgeordnetenhaus election, with both parties hovering near 19-22 percent alongside AfD and the Greens, while the SPD trails. This fragmented field, combined with Berlin's mixed-member proportional system that rewards direct mandates and can produce overhang seats, keeps projected CDU totals clustered around the mid-20s to low-30s and sustains tight market pricing across adjacent seat brackets. The CDU's July leadership shift to Stefan Evers has not yet produced measurable gains, and traders appear focused on whether late-campaign turnout or AfD consolidation could alter the distribution before election night.
