Taiwanese local elections are scheduled to be held on November 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Magistrate of Kinmen County as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder Magistrates appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known, or no candidate has been elected, by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of the elections as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Taiwanese government, specifically the Central Election Commission (https://db.cec.gov.tw/).Chen Yu-jen secured the Kuomintang nomination in March 2026 as the sole registered candidate for the Kinmen County magistrate race ahead of the November 28 local elections, reinforcing her position in a traditional KMT stronghold where the party has dominated magistrate and legislative contests for decades. As the incumbent Kinmen legislative representative with a 65% vote share in 2024, she benefits from established local networks, emphasis on cross-strait stability, long-term care, and infrastructure priorities that resonate with voters. The Democratic Progressive Party has fielded no official contender in recent cycles, leaving fragmented independent or minor-party options such as Li Wen-liang, Liang Wen-tao, and Yang Cheng-wu with limited visibility or organizational backing. No significant late developments or rival surges have altered the landscape in the past month, sustaining trader consensus around her frontrunner status while other listed names reflect low-probability alternatives.
