A leadership election for the Conservative Party of British Columbia is expected following the resignation of Kerry-Lynne Findlay as party leader on September 20, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder leaders appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by November 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from the Conservative Party of British Columbia. The recent resignation of Kerry-Lynne Findlay after months of caucus defections, expulsions, and internal disputes has left the B.C. Conservative Party without a permanent leader, creating a wide-open contest marked by deep divisions over direction and strategy. Trader consensus reflects this uncertainty, with numerous candidates priced near even odds and listed frontrunners such as Caroline Elliott, Claire Rattée, Sheldon Clare, Aaron Gunn, Yuri Fulmer, and Iain Black holding lower implied probabilities amid a broad field that includes veterans from the May 2026 race and potential new entrants. The tight pricing stems from ongoing unity talks with CentreBC, the return of several MLAs to caucus under interim leader Lorne Doerkson, and the looming possibility of an early provincial election called by the NDP. Further separation could emerge from formal candidate announcements, member polling, endorsements by sitting MLAs, or decisions on a ranked-ballot convention timeline.
