Taiwanese local elections are scheduled to be held on November 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Mayor of Taipei as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder Mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known, or no candidate has been elected, by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of the elections as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Taiwanese government, specifically the Central Election Commission (https://db.cec.gov.tw/).Chiang Wan-an, the incumbent KMT mayor seeking re-election in the November 28, 2026, Taipei mayoral race, holds an overwhelming lead in trader consensus due to consistent polling margins of 20+ points over challengers and Taipei’s traditional KMT lean. The DPP’s May 2026 nomination of lawmaker Puma Shen has not narrowed the gap, with surveys showing Chiang ahead across demographics despite Shen’s civil-defense profile. Other listed candidates, including Kuo Hsi, register minimal support and limited campaign momentum. Chiang’s recent party activities, including organizing opposition rallies and topping early KMT 2028 presidential preference polls, have reinforced perceptions of his strong local base and administrative record heading into the final months of the campaign.
