This market will resolve to "Yes" if Tim Walz announces he has resigned or will resign as Governor of Minnesota by the listed date ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If it becomes impossible for Tim Walz to resign or to announce his resignation (e.g., due to his removal from office by other means, etc.), this market will immediately resolve to "No." For this market to resolve to "Yes," it is only necessary that Tim Walz announce that he has resigned or will resign. Whether he actually resigns will have no bearing on the resolution of this market. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the US federal government or the government of Minnesota; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.Tim Walz, the Democratic Governor of Minnesota serving his second term through early 2027, announced in January 2026 that he would not seek reelection amid scrutiny over state child-care fraud investigations and related accountability questions. He explicitly rejected contemporaneous calls from Republican lawmakers and others to resign, stating his intent to complete the remainder of his term while focusing on governance rather than campaigning. As of mid-August 2026, official state records and recent gubernatorial actions, including policy announcements and public appearances, confirm he remains in office with no subsequent developments altering that position. Trader sentiment on resignation markets therefore centers on whether late-term pressures, such as further legislative probes, party dynamics ahead of the 2026 election, or health or personal factors, could prompt an early departure before the term concludes.
