Recent multiplayer betas and deep dives have elevated Gears of War: E-Day and The Duskbloods as early frontrunners for Best Multiplayer at The Game Awards, with the former showcasing refined Horde Siege and 4v4 Versus modes while the latter builds on FromSoftware's innovative online action formula ahead of its 2026 Switch 2 launch. Marathon's steadily rising critical reception positions it as a strong extraction-shooter contender, joined by Subnautica 2's co-op expansion and Exoborne's anticipated features. With no title exceeding roughly 17% implied probability, the field remains tightly contested across survival, co-op, and competitive genres; guild and critic momentum, late-2026 releases, and beta feedback will likely determine which campaign breaks the deadlock before December voting.
