In the early stages of the 2027 Oscars race for Best Supporting Actor, trader sentiment reflects a wide-open field driven by 2026 film releases and casting announcements rather than established frontrunners. Paul Giamatti holds the clearest edge at 27.5% implied probability on the strength of his proven awards pedigree and upcoming projects, while Robert Pattinson sits at 8.6% amid continued critical interest in his dramatic turns. Lower-priced names such as John Goodman, Sam Rockwell, and Jesse Plemons trail as the market prices in uncertainty ahead of fall festivals, guild nominations, and precursor awards that historically shape academy voting patterns. The broad distribution across dozens of contenders underscores how quickly momentum can shift once reviews and campaign narratives solidify.
