Recent polling for the September 20, 2026 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election shows the SPD at 29 percent in the latest INSA survey (mid-August) and Infratest dimap readings from July, up slightly from 27 percent in May. This modest recovery stems from high personal approval ratings for Minister President Manuela Schwesig and voter focus on state-level stability ahead of the vote. The AfD remains ahead at 36 percent, but the SPD’s incremental gains and the typical two-to-three-point margin of error in state surveys support trader assessments that the party’s final result is more likely to exceed 28 percent. Coalition arithmetic and turnout among eastern German voters remain key variables in the final weeks.

Over
This market will resolve to “Over” if SPD wins at least 28% of all valid second votes (Zweitstimme) in the specified election.
This market will resolve to “Under” if SPD wins less than 28% of all valid second votes (Zweitstimme) in the specified election.
This market will resolve solely based on the percentage of valid second votes (Zweitstimme) won by the specified party, defined as the number of valid second votes won by the specified party divided by the total number of valid second votes in the specified election.
Valid vote percentages will be counted only where the State Returning Officer of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Landeswahlleiter Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) attributes them to the aforementioned party.
