Costco is known for selling cheap hot dogs. As of December 2, 2025, the Costco hot dog and 20 oz soda combo is $1.50. This market will resolve to "Yes" if the price of a standard Costco hot dog and 20 oz soda combo before tax exceeds $1.50 in any Costco store in the United States by December 31, 2026, 11:59PM ET. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No". If Costco announces they will increase the price, this market will resolve to "Yes" regardless of whether that change is actually implemented. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Costco, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.Costco’s iconic $1.50 hot dog and soda combo remains unchanged as of August 2026, with CEO Ron Vachris publicly reaffirming in a March 2026 video that the price “will not change as long as I’m around,” reinforcing decades of leadership commitments since the deal launched in 1985. Recent April adjustments, such as adding a Kirkland bottled water option at the same bundle price, highlight operational tweaks without touching the core pricing strategy that prioritizes customer loyalty and vertical integration over margins. Traders see this explicit tenure-bound pledge, combined with the combo’s status as a loss-leader cultural staple, as locking in stability through 2026. A sudden CEO departure or major supply disruption could theoretically force reconsideration, though historical precedent and current signals strongly favor no increase before the 2027 deadline.
