Trujillo’s October 4, 2026 mayoral race features a fragmented field of more than a dozen registered candidates, producing closely matched market prices among the leaders. Víctor Alfonso Castañeda Carrera holds the highest implied probability at 40 percent, followed by incumbent Mario Colberth Reyna Rodríguez at 33.1 percent and Luis Ángel Zavala Espino at 29.8 percent, with the remainder of the field below 25 percent. A mid-August poll showed Reyna ahead on first-preference support, yet the large number of contenders and the prohibition on immediate re-election keep the outcome open. No single dominant development has shifted consensus in recent weeks, leaving trader pricing sensitive to any late polling movement or coalition signals before election day.
