United Russia enters the September 2026 State Duma elections as the dominant incumbent, holding roughly 310 seats and benefiting from extensive administrative mobilization, high turnout targets in loyal regions, and inclusion of occupied Ukrainian territories. Kremlin preparations include leadership restructuring with Dmitry Medvedev heading the party list and adjusted vote goals lowered to around 45-50% amid polling near 30-34% and economic pressures from the Ukraine conflict. Recent 2025 regional contests showed the party securing overwhelming majorities and nearly all governorships through controlled processes. Traders assign a slim edge to sweeping every region because these tools have historically delivered uniform dominance, though softer national support and variable regional dynamics introduce measurable uncertainty ahead of the three-day vote.
