This market will resolve to the bracket within which the price for "Eggs, Grade A, Large (Cost per Dozen) in U.S. City Average" lies when the August data point is published by the St. Louis Fed (https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000708111). The St. Louis Fed bases its numbers for egg prices on the BLS's CPI release. The August release is presently scheduled for September 11, 2026. Resolution of this market will take place upon the update of the St. Louis Fed's chart. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month. The resolution source for this market measures prices to the third decimal place. Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.Recent USDA data through June 2026 show retail egg prices at approximately $2.14 per dozen, down sharply year-over-year amid a 30.7% projected annual decline driven by flock recovery from prior HPAI losses and reduced detections in early 2026. Expanded production has boosted supply while demand softened, pushing farmgate prices to historic lows near $0.25 per dozen and wholesale levels well below break-even. Market-implied odds cluster tightly around $2.10–$2.30 because traders price in continued downward momentum from elevated 2025 levels yet recognize month-to-month volatility from seasonal demand, potential late-summer flock adjustments, and any residual supply-chain effects. The near-even distribution across the top three buckets reflects uncertainty over whether August readings will stabilize near June levels or register further modest easing before Q3 data revisions.
