Center-left opposition parties led by Elly Schlein’s Democratic Party and Giuseppe Conte’s Five Star Movement are exploring coalition coordination to challenge the center-right bloc, while Roberto Vannacci’s new Futuro Nazionale party draws nationalist support and fragments the right. Recent parliamentary approval of electoral changes and ongoing coalition stability efforts have reinforced trader views of Meloni’s frontrunner status, tempered by risks from vote splitting, opposition unity, and any economic pressures ahead of the vote.
