Incumbent Denis Bećirović of the Social Democratic Party trails despite his 2022 victory and current role, as analysts note a closely matched contest shaped by party loyalties and potential vote fragmentation. Semir Efendić, the long-serving mayor of Novi Grad Sarajevo from the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, registers minimal support and functions mainly as a possible spoiler. Recent candidacy confirmations and comparisons to 2022 results have reinforced SDA's structural edge without major shifts in the past month.
