Daejon Love, arrested August 24, 2026, in Boise and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud in Oregon federal court, faces allegations of a years-long romance-and-investment scam that netted roughly $1.3 million from at least 26 victims by posing as a San Francisco 49ers player and wealthy investor. A detailed criminal complaint outlines financial records, victim transfers via apps like Cash App and Zelle, and the use of accomplice Taylor Chan as a fake financial adviser, with Love remaining detained after a recent hearing citing flight risk. Traders monitoring a potential guilty plea watch for arraignment timing after his transfer to Oregon, standard federal plea-bargaining incentives in wire-fraud cases with strong documentary evidence, and any early signals of negotiations ahead of trial.
