Recent polling shows Republican nominee Bo French holding a narrow 44-42% edge over Democrat Jon Rosenthal ahead of the November 3 general election, though the margin falls within sampling error and French’s unfavorable rating has risen sharply to 32% following backlash over his social media activity. French defeated incumbent Jim Wright in the May Republican runoff and has emphasized deregulation of the oil and gas sector, while Rosenthal, a state representative and former mechanical engineer with over 25 years in the industry, highlights technical expertise on energy reliability and infrastructure. High undecided shares, limited crossover voting, and Republican criticism of French’s comments have kept trader assessments close, with upcoming early voting and any further campaign developments likely to influence positioning before Election Day.
