Recent drone attacks from Iraqi territory on September 10 forced Saudi Arabia to shut its East-West pipeline (Petroline) as a precaution, damaging pumping stations in the Riyadh and Madinah regions and prompting safety assessments by Aramco technical teams. The 1,200 km line, expanded to a 7 million barrels per day nameplate capacity, had been routing 4-5 million bpd to Red Sea terminals at Yanbu to bypass disrupted Strait of Hormuz flows amid regional conflict. This incident follows a quicker April 2026 restoration after similar strikes reduced throughput by 700,000 bpd. Oil prices have climbed above $100 per barrel on supply concerns, with trader focus now on repair timelines, security enhancements, and any Iraqi or Saudi responses that could extend the outage or stabilize operations.

This market will resolve to “Yes” if the government of Saudi Arabia announces that the East-West oil pipeline is operational or no longer shut down between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”.
A qualifying announcement must express that the pipeline is presently operating; operation at partial or reduced capacity qualifies.
Announcements that attribute such a claim to third parties, state that the pipeline will or may operate in the future, describe work underway to restore operation, or frame resumption as expected, planned, or conditional, will not qualify.
Once a qualifying announcement is made, this market will resolve to “Yes,” regardless of any subsequent contradictory statements, or alternative information from other sources.
