This market will resolve to according to the candidate who wins the 2026 California gubernatorial election currently scheduled for November 3, 2026. If the results of the election are not confirmed by July 31, 2027, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on official certification.Xavier Becerra’s advance through the June 2026 top-two primary and sustained double-digit leads in subsequent polls reflect consolidation of Democratic support in a state where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by nearly two-to-one. As the former state attorney general and U.S. health secretary, Becerra enters the November general election against Republican Steve Hilton with broad name recognition and alignment on core state issues. Hilton’s platform emphasizing spending cuts and deregulation has not narrowed the gap in head-to-head surveys. Trader consensus at 92.8 percent for Becerra tracks these structural and polling realities. Late developments such as major scandals, sharp shifts in national economic conditions, or unusually high Republican turnout could still alter the outcome before election day.
