United Russia maintains a strong lead in trader assessments for securing the most State Duma seats in the September 18–20, 2026, elections, reflecting its position as the incumbent ruling party with a large existing majority and Kremlin-aligned structures. Recent developments reinforcing this include the June 2026 presidential decree formally scheduling the vote, candidate list formations headed by figures such as Dmitry Medvedev, and ongoing preparations that incorporate voting in occupied Ukrainian territories alongside multi-day balloting. Polling trends show United Russia support in the low-to-mid 40 percent range, well ahead of other registered parties like the CPRF, LDPR, and New People, amid tight controls on opposition participation, candidate disqualifications, and limited independent competition. These factors shape market pricing around the established pattern of managed federal elections, with scheduled events like regional voting experiments providing limited signals of potential shifts.
