Republican voters consolidated behind the state senator and minority leader, while Democratic support split across multiple candidates, allowing Braun to claim the plurality despite combined Democratic totals exceeding 50%. Late-counted mail ballots or shifts in remaining precincts represent the primary remaining variables that could alter final placement, though current margins make such reversals unlikely.
