Both AFC North clubs enter the 2026 season as rebound candidates after sub-.500 2025 campaigns, with the Ravens under new head coach Jesse Minter and the Bengals bolstered by defensive additions like Dexter Lawrence. Baltimore’s roster features Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry alongside edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, while Cincinnati relies on Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins, both of whom are expected to be available for the opener despite minor preseason ailments. The teams meet in Week 7 at Baltimore and Week 17 in Cincinnati, a classic home-and-away split that historically produces close results. Trader consensus favoring a series tie reflects the comparable projected win totals, shared injury-recovery narratives, and limited separation in recent form or head-to-head trends entering the season.
