In the 2026-27 NFL season, the interceptions thrown leader market stays tightly bunched because numerous quarterbacks share comparable risk profiles entering Week 1. High-volume passers such as Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold operate in schemes favoring aggressive downfield attempts, while rookies including Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders face steep learning curves against complex defenses and potentially inconsistent offensive lines. Veterans like Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Patrick Mahomes post elevated attempt totals in pass-heavy offenses where coverage breakdowns or pressure can produce picks. Historical patterns show the category often decided by a handful of extra turnovers rather than one clear frontrunner, with roster health, play-calling adjustments, and matchup difficulty keeping implied probabilities clustered near 49-50% across the field.
