**Recent supply inflows and upcoming product drops are pushing trader consensus toward a price decline for the prominent Pikachu ex cards (notably the Special Illustration Rares from Ascended Heroes and Surging Sparks) by August 31.** Market data shows these chase cards have already shed significant value in late July, with one variant falling nearly $60 to around $390 and another dropping over $120 amid rising availability. The August 28 release of Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes tins, which include fresh booster packs from the set, is expected to add immediate liquidity right before the resolution date. Broader 2026 trends of increased print runs for popular Pokémon TCG sets, combined with the upcoming September 30th Celebration expansion previewing new Pikachu ex artwork, are further tempering short-term demand and supporting the modest edge for “Down” at 58.5% implied probability. Traders appear to be pricing in the classic post-release supply surge that typically cools secondary-market premiums for illustration rares within weeks of wider distribution.
