**Trader sentiment on the Mega Gengar ex price for August 31 leans toward "Down" at 66% implied probability, driven primarily by sustained supply pressure from the May 2026 Mega Battle Deck release and shifting collector focus after the Ascended Heroes set launch.** The preconstructed Darkness-type deck added ready-to-play copies of the card to the market, easing earlier scarcity that had supported higher prices on both standard and special illustration rare variants. Newer expansions like Mega Evolution: Pitch Black (July 2026), spotlighting other Mega ex cards, have further diluted short-term demand as collectors chase fresh chase cards rather than established ones. Recent sales data and secondary market listings show gradual softening for mid-tier versions, consistent with historical TCG patterns where battle decks and follow-up sets cap upside in the weeks after initial hype. With no major reprints, chart surges, or events scheduled before month-end, traders see limited catalysts for an immediate rebound, though graded high-end copies could remain more resilient if grading demand stays strong.
