The September 20, 2026 Berlin state election for the Abgeordnetenhaus remains closely contested, with trader consensus assigning Elif Eralp of Die Linke the highest implied probability at 45 percent, followed by CDU’s Stefan Evers at 32 percent and Greens’ Werner Graf at 13 percent. The race stays tight due to fragmented party support across CDU, SPD, Greens, Die Linke, and AfD, with no single party projected to secure a majority and the mayor chosen through post-election coalition negotiations. Evers assumed the CDU lead candidate role in July after Kai Wegner’s withdrawal amid criticism of the government’s response to a major power outage. Recent polling shows Die Linke and CDU nearly level, while SPD and AfD candidates trail. Developments such as coalition talks, turnout shifts among key voting blocs, or late campaign events could widen the gap ahead of the vote.
