Gubernatorial elections are currently scheduled to be held in Kagawa on August 30, 2026. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2026 Kagawa gubernatorial elections. Any interim or caretaker Governor will not qualify. If the results are not known definitively by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". If no candidate reaches the legally required number of votes to win the election, this market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by government sources of Kagawa and Japan, including the Kagawa Prefecture Election Management Committee (https://www.pref.kagawa.lg.jp/senkyoi/index.html).Toyohito Ikeda, the incumbent Kagawa governor since 2022, holds a commanding position in the August 30, 2026 gubernatorial election market due to his established incumbency advantage and broad backing from major parties including the LDP. He secured over 73 percent of the vote in the prior contest with limited opposition, and recent endorsements such as the Centrist Reform Coalition's May 2026 decision further consolidate support ahead of official campaigning. No prominent challengers have emerged to fragment the field or shift voter blocs in key prefectural areas. Trader consensus at 93 percent reflects these structural factors and the absence of major recent disruptions, though outcomes could still shift from unforeseen developments like candidate withdrawals, late scandals, or coordinated opposition within the narrow pre-election window.
