Goldman Sachs holds the dominant 79.5% market-implied probability as lead-left underwriter due to its deep technology-sector expertise and reported role coordinating OpenAI’s IPO preparations alongside Morgan Stanley. Recent confidential S-1 filing activity in mid-2026, following OpenAI’s rapid valuation growth to over $800 billion driven by ChatGPT enterprise adoption and large language model advancements, has reinforced this positioning amid banker assignments for a potential late-2026 or 2027 debut. The artificial intelligence company’s competitive timeline versus rival Anthropic and emphasis on raising tens of billions further favor Goldman’s established relationships and execution track record in high-profile tech listings. Key upcoming catalysts include any public confirmation of the full syndicate or regulatory timing shifts that could alter trader consensus.

If no IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or OpenAI completes an initial public offering without a designated lead underwriter, this market will resolve to “Other.”
If multiple banks are identified as lead underwriters, this market will resolve according to the primary lead underwriter. If the hierarchy between them is unclear, this market will resolve once it is conclusively evident which bank is the primary lead underwriter, for example, through the order in which the banks are listed in the underwriting section of OpenAI's final initial public offering prospectus, once released.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official disclosures from OpenAI. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
