This market will resolve to "Yes" if Israel announces it has withdrawn all ground forces from Lebanese territory beyond the Litani River by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is sufficient that Israel announces its ground forces have withdrawn from all Lebanese territory beyond the Litani River, regardless of if some specified territory remains under their control or ground incursions by Israeli forces continue. However, an announcement of a planned or future withdrawal will not suffice. The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the Israeli government, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting confirming that Israel has withdrawn may also be used.Israeli forces advanced north of the Litani River during May 2026 ground operations amid the 2026 Lebanon war, occupying positions including around Beaufort Castle and issuing evacuation orders extending toward the Zahrani River, despite the April 16 ceasefire. Subsequent U.S.-mediated talks produced a framework requiring Hezbollah to withdraw its forces north of the Litani, paired with Israeli withdrawal and Lebanese Army deployment in southern areas. In July 2026, pilot zones were activated in villages such as Froun, Srifa, and Zawtar al-Gharbiya to test simultaneous pullbacks and army control, marking the first concrete steps toward phased Israeli disengagement. Trader sentiment hinges on Hezbollah compliance, Lebanese Army operational capacity, ongoing diplomatic coordination, and any renewed clashes that could stall or accelerate the timeline.
