Databricks’ July 2026 strategic funding round at a $188 billion valuation, led by Coatue with a term sheet already signed, has established a clear premium over Stripe’s $159 billion February tender price. Strong revenue momentum—Databricks surpassed a $5.4 billion annualized run rate with 65%+ year-over-year growth in early 2026, accelerating further into AI and data infrastructure—supports trader expectations that its valuation will remain elevated through year-end. Stripe continues to post robust payment volume gains, reaching $1.9 trillion in 2025, yet lacks a comparable recent re-rating. With no imminent IPOs or major tenders signaled for either firm, market-implied odds reflect the durable gap created by Databricks’ latest primary round and sector tailwinds in enterprise AI adoption.
