Alibaba leads trader sentiment at 63.5% implied probability for the best Chinese AI company by end of October 2026, driven by its early August release of the Qwen3.8-Max model. This largest iteration to date climbed AI leaderboards with strong multimodal and agentic capabilities, outpacing prior Qwen versions and drawing enterprise adoption on Alibaba Cloud. Established scale in cloud infrastructure, open-source momentum on platforms like Hugging Face, and heavy AI investment further reinforce its position over agile startups. Moonshot (13%) benefits from July’s competitive Kimi K3 benchmarks, while Z.ai, DeepSeek, and Baidu trail due to narrower enterprise reach despite cost-efficient open models. Upcoming developer conferences and benchmark updates through October could shift momentum among these players.
