Recent polling in the lead-up to Berlin's September 20, 2026, state election shows a fragmented contest, with Die Linke, CDU, and AfD clustered between roughly 17-22% support and the Greens not far behind. This multi-party tightness, combined with historical turnout variations and regional east-west dynamics, keeps projected AfD seat totals uncertain across the 26-34 range. National AfD gains and a July INSA survey marking the party's first Berlin lead have sustained momentum, yet coalition exclusion norms and competition from other opposition parties limit upside. Upcoming results from concurrent September state votes or shifts in voter priorities on migration and housing could widen or narrow the seat bins.
