Khmara, a Major General and former head of the SBU’s Alpha special operations unit, assumed the acting role following Cabinet approval on July 20. Trader sentiment centers on whether he will receive full parliamentary confirmation, which requires him to resign his military commission under Ukrainian law governing civilian ministerial positions.
