The KOSPI index, after plunging as much as 12.6% in late July on disappointing SK Hynix results relative to elevated AI expectations and leveraged position unwinds, has rallied over 3% on multiple sessions in mid-August, supported by U.S. technology strength and renewed optimism for memory chip demand. Year-to-date returns exceed 70%, reflecting 2026's earlier AI-driven surge, though 52-week ranges from roughly 71 to 220 underscore sensitivity to global risk appetite, the KRW/USD rate, and export trends. Key near-term influences include upcoming U.S. economic data and semiconductor earnings updates that could shift trader sentiment on the ETF's price path.
