The 2026-27 Scottish Premiership season has opened with several sides posting strong early defensive numbers, including St Mirren and Dundee each keeping two clean sheets in their first few matches while Celtic, Motherwell, Hearts, and Falkirk have also started positively. Pre-season squad reinforcements and tactical setups emphasizing compact mid-blocks or organized back lines have contributed to low goals-conceded totals across much of the division so far. With only a handful of fixtures completed, no single club has established clear dominance in clean-sheet rate, and historical parity among mid-table and promoted sides keeps implied probabilities tightly bunched between 45% and 50%. Rangers sit slightly behind after mixed early results, underscoring how quickly form and fixture difficulty can shift the picture over a full campaign.
