Gerwyn Price enters the New Zealand Darts Masters matchup against local qualifier Mark Cleaver as the consensus favorite among traders, yet the near-even implied probability reflects Cleaver’s significant home-soil edge in Auckland. Price, currently ranked fourth worldwide and fresh off a World Matchplay final plus a 2026 European Darts Grand Prix title, brings superior PDC experience and higher scoring averages, but recent form has shown occasional inconsistency. Cleaver, a multiple-time New Zealand champion ranked among the country’s top players though outside the global elite, benefits from crowd support, familiarity with conditions, and proven domestic results that can elevate performance in World Series events. Limited prior head-to-head data and the single-elimination format add volatility, with any dip in Price’s finishing or an above-average Cleaver display capable of narrowing the gap further.
